Pakistan seals $1.6 billion deal with Azerbaijan to sell JF-17 fighter jets
For the first time, a major defense agreement has been signed between the Air Force of Pakistan and Azerbaijan. Azerbaijani newspaper Azer News has claimed that this deal is Pakistan’s biggest export deal with Azerbaijan.
A historic $1.6 billion deal was signed for the JF-17C Block-III fighter jets, which includes aircraft, training and ammunition.
PAC works closely with companies in Turkey and China to manufacture some of its products.
PAC also has businesses in other countries such as Myanmar, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates.
In the past, the Pakistan Air Force felt that they needed a place to repair their aircraft instead of sending them to other countries.
So they built a factory called Aircraft Rebuild Factory (ARF) at Kamra.
They also built another factory called the Mirage Rebuild Factory (MRF) to repair a different type of aircraft.
These factories were built with the help of experts from China and France.
Currently, Pakistan is also working with companies in Ankara and Beijing to strengthen its defense system
Regarding the sale of the aircraft, the Pakistan Air Force and the Government of Pakistan did not share the news with the media or media sources
Apart from this, Azerbaijan became the third country after Myanmar and Nigeria to purchase JF-17 Thunders from Pakistan.
The JF-17 Thunder deal between Pakistan and Azerbaijan will be worth around 1.6 billion dollars, the Pak-Azerbaijan deal will include the planes along with the weapons package and training, says Wawari.
Sources further said that the JF-17 Thunder Block Three fighters are equipped with the latest avionics and electronic warfare systems as per the contemporary requirements, with a wider combat range, more combat capabilities than the JF-17 Thunder Block Three. Pakistan and Azerbaijan have already established friendly relations and in terms of defense they are increasing day by day.
Earlier, the two sides participated in military operations together. Apart from this, the two countries also bring their military forces together for training and exercises.
